About The
Grills & Smokers
The oldest
continuous grill manufacturer in the
United States, in business since 1938. It was purchased by Ora and
Sharon Yoder as Metal Fabricating Co., which at that time was
producing Big Chief and Little Chief metal products, plus a
rotisserie model patented in 1964. Ora had his own ideas about heat
transfer and water jackets to improve design. The original rotisserie
model could only hold one slab of ribs. He has designed and built a
unit that holds approximately
"60" 15 pound turkeys. 120 sides of ribs (3 1/2 downs) by using rib
racks. "60" briskets with rib racks. "12" Whole hogs, dressed (up to
70 pounds) and trussed can be placed on each
tray. Area residents use this
model for
charitable events. The line now sports 16 types of charcoal or gas
fired cooker/smokers with side-by-side or up-and-down combinations
plus 8 commercial types and 6 competition models. Our latest model,
the " Bonanza
Deluxe " and " The COMPETITION PIT SMOKER
" are built on a trailer with lights and 2" ball.
Ten employees keep the work going manufacturing approximately 1500 units a year in various sizes.
